Dietary supplement.
Film-coated tablets.
Intended for pregnant women and for women planning pregnancy.
ActiFolin® contains folic acid and a ready-to-use, highly absorbable form of IV-generation folates. It is a unique source of folates that ensures rapid absorption and excellent bioavailability. This preparation is recommended for women of reproductive age planning pregnancy, women who are pregnant, and for individuals with increased folate requirements, especially for folic acid.
ActiFolin® provides a complex source of folates:
- Folic acid
- Active, ready-to-use IV-generation folate – particularly suitable for women who may have difficulty absorbing traditional folic acid. This form offers better solubility and higher bioavailability compared to III-generation folates.
ActiFolin® is an additional safeguard for all women, especially those who may have difficulty absorbing traditional folic acid. The use of a complex folate source for the prevention of neural tube defects in all women planning pregnancy and during pregnancy is supported by the position of a panel of gynecology experts. If you are unsure whether you properly absorb folic acid, start using ActiFolin®.
A varied diet and a healthy lifestyle are important for maintaining health.
“Supplemental intake of folic acid increases maternal folate levels. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus.”
The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplemental intake of 400 μg of folic acid for at least one month before conception and up to three months after conception. Multiple risk factors exist for the condition addressed by this claim. Modifying one of these risk factors may or may not have a beneficial effect.
